There are many non-toxic toilet cleaners on the market, but did you know you can also make your own handmade natural toilet bowl cleaner? And it’s easy to make too!
The following natural toilet bowl cleaner recipe is made with safe ingredients, including pure essential oils of tea tree, lavender or Thieves essential oil blend. Plus, this recipe smells so much better than toxic chemical cleaners sold in the stores.
This recipe uses castile soap, which is made from olive and/or coconut oils. Most people like Dr. Bronner’s Castile Soap because it is non-toxic, biodegradable, Fair Trade and organic.
Follow the recipe below in the order given:
Natural Toilet Bowl Cleaner Recipe
1 cup water
½ cup liquid castile soap
1 cup baking soda
Add one or more of the following essential oils to the mixture:
a few drops Young Living tea tree essential oil
a few drops Young Living lavender essential oil
a few drops Young Living Thieves Household Cleaner
¼ cup white vinegar
- In a large measuring cup, mix all the ingredients EXCEPT the white vinegar
- Add the vinegar last, carefully mixing in, since it will fizz up
- Pour into a spray bottle and use on the toilet bowl, rim and seat.
Keep your bathroom fresh and clean with safe non-toxic cleaners and ditch the chemical cleaners for good.
