Have you ever burned your fingers peeling large amounts of garlic? I did one time, when I was peeling several heads of garlic to make jars of lacto-fermented garlic. I found this video by Saveur.com and I wish I had known about this easy technique for peeling garlic then!
How to Peel Garlic in 10 Seconds
- Take 1 head of garlic, and using the heel of your hand, smash on the counter to loosen the cloves
- Put the garlic in 1 bowl and cover with another bowl as a lid
- Shake the bowls vigorously
- Remove top bowl and the garlic inside is peeled!
