Most people were not aware of the dangers of Ebola until the first case hit the news. And still many people who do not understand the significance of that first case.

Many Americans didn’t think there was anything to worry about. Now we know there is. There’s a lot of misinformation about what Ebola is, where it originated from, how contagious it is and how it spreads.

Before Ebola becomes an epidemic here in America, you need to know the best way to prepare for the possibility of having to fight this disease yourself. The first step is to know what you’re up against.

Most people don’t know enough to be able to protect themselves and their family. Most don’t know there is more than one strain of Ebola. In the book “The Hot Zone”, Richard Preston tells the true story about this deadly disease.

In this book, he explores the tiny little pathogens that cause the deadliest diseases in the world.

One of the diseases Preston writes about is the outbreak of the Marburg virus in a German lab in the late 60’s.

Marburg virus came from monkeys brought in from Uganda. How the disease transmitted to humans has never been identified. Guess what else has the same characteristics as Marburg?

The Ebola virus.

Just like the Marburg situation, Ebola was brought to the U.S. to be studied in the late 1980’s in Virginia. What the public never heard about was the outbreak.

The outbreak caused deaths of multiple lab monkeys and had the potential to cause a widespread epidemic in humans. The story was kept quiet so the public would not panic.

Today, the same words about not causing a panic in the public are being used with this strain of the Ebola virus. And everyone is reading the news reports and upset that Ebola is here.

What the public doesn’t understand is that Ebola has been here before. Right now it’s in labs across the U.S. and officials still don’t know with 100% certainty what to do about major outbreaks like the ones you’ve seen in the news.

There is no cure, even after all the studies conducted on the virus. They have some trial medications, but not enough of a supply for a major outbreak, and only some of the medications have worked.

In The Hot Zone, you’ll learn the shocking details of what Ebola does to the body and where this one came from. At 448 pages, the graphic details will keep you turning the pages til the end.
