What is one of the most powerful health remedies on the planet? Garlic! Garlic has been used to treat numerous ailments and is readily available anywhere. Today we’ll focus just on a few remedies for skin and hair care that garlic is useful for. Be sure to include garlic in your diet several times a week.

Garlic can prevent hair loss—due to its high levels of allicin, garlic can minimize or even cure hair loss problems. This sulfur compound is extremely effective in treating hair related problems. To treat hair loss, slice a few cloves of garlic and rub them onto your scalp. You can also make a garlic infused oil (or buy it here) and massage into your scalp.

Garlic can help with skin problems—do you have recurring acne? The antioxidants in garlic can kill the bacteria which cause pimples and blemishes. Slice a clove of garlic and rub it on the pimple to reduce inflammation, repeat until it disappears.

Garlic can sooth psoriasis—the anti-inflammatory properties of garlic can relieve psoriasis outbreaks. Rub garlic oil on the affected area for relief.

Garlic can remove splinters and glass shards—got a splinter you can’t get out? Place a slice of garlic over the splinter area and cover with a bandage or duct tape. Cover with a sock and go to sleep. The splinter or glass shard should have worked itself out by morning.

Garlic gets rid of athlete’s foot—Garlic’s anti-fungal properties help get rid of athlete’s foot. Crush garlic cloves and put in a tub of warm water to soak your feet in. Soak for 30 minutes.

Garlic helps get rid of cold sores—the anti-inflammatory properties of garlic reduce pain and swelling of cold sores. Place a bit of crushed garlic on the cold sore for a few seconds. Rinse and pat dry with a sterile cloth. Repeat twice a day until gone.
