Mullein is a traditional herb used for strengthening the lungs and is very specific for any breathing problem.  It is also used for allergies or other sensitivities that cause your breathing to tighten.  Whether its asthma, asthmatic tendencies, COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) or emphysema, mullein is the herb that can strengthen your lungs.

How to Make Mullein Infusion:

1 oz dried mullein leaf

1 glass quart canning jar

Put 1 ounce dried mullein in the glass jar and pour boiling water over to fill the jar.  Cap and let steep for 4 hours or overnight.

How to Strain:

Mullein has “hairs” that can be annoying in your mouth, so strain the mullein infusion through fine cloth or a napkin to catch the hairs.  There will be more hairs from mullein you harvest yourself than mullein you buy.

How to Use Mullein Infusion:

Traditionally, mullein infusion is mixed with milk.  Mix ½ cup mullein infusion with ½ cup raw milk.  Heat it and add honey to taste.  Milk is the traditional healer for the lungs.
